Toxic jerky treats linked to more than 1,000 dog deaths

Since 2007 there have been over 5,000 complaints of pet illness related to jerky treats. The reported symptoms were gastrointestinal or liver disease, and about a third were linked to kidney and urinary disease. A majority of the cases reportedly occurred after the pets had eaten chicken, duck or sweet potato jerky treats imported from China. According to an article on Fox News: “So far, testing of jerky pet treats from China revealed low levels of antibiotics as well as the antiviral drug amantadine in some chicken samples. ” Do you know what is in your dogs treats? We only have ONE ingredient in all of our chicken treats. Raw meat that is baked. There are no additives, and no hormones or antibiotics / antiviral drugs.
